This policy describes how UnboundedFigures handles content reports, what gets removed and why, how we treat AI-generated mathematical content, and how you can appeal a decision.
Our Approach to Moderation
UnboundedFigures is a small, community-first platform. Our moderation approach reflects that. We do not use automated systems to remove content. Every removal decision is made by a human who has read the content and the context around it.
We apply our Community Guidelines with judgment and context. The same words in a constructive critique carry different weight than in a targeted attack. We try to make the right call, and we have an appeals process for when we get it wrong.
We also recognize that moderation decisions on mathematical content require care. We will not remove a sketch because it contains an error, a questionable assumption, or an idea that most mathematicians would reject. Mathematical culture depends on the freedom to be wrong.
What Gets Removed
Harassment and abuse
Content is removedAny content that harasses, threatens, or targets individual users — regardless of whether the target is present on the platform.
Plagiarism
Content is removedMathematical work presented as your own that is directly taken from another source without attribution, including from published papers.
Undisclosed AI authorship
Content is removed or flaggedContent where AI substantially authored the mathematical ideas without any disclosure, presented as human original thinking. First offense typically results in a warning and removal. Repeated violations escalate.
Spam and manipulation
Content is removed; account may be suspendedAutomated posting, coordinated engagement manipulation, or content that exists solely to game platform visibility.
Copyright infringement
Content is removed on valid DMCA noticeSee our Copyright Policy for the full DMCA process.
Illegal content
Content is removed; may be reported to authoritiesContent that violates applicable law, including but not limited to child safety violations, doxxing, and credible threats.
Impersonation
Content is removed; account may be suspendedAccounts or posts that impersonate real people, whether users on this platform or public figures.
What Does Not Get Removed
UnboundedFigures exists to make mathematical thinking visible — including thinking that is incomplete, speculative, or wrong. The following are explicitly protected:
- Mathematical ideas we disagree with or find uninteresting
- Conjectures that turn out to be false or unproven
- Work that is technically wrong, unless it also violates another policy (e.g., plagiarism)
- Controversial mathematical claims that lack consensus
- Work in early, informal, or speculative stages
- Criticism, counterexamples, and disagreement — these are features, not violations
- Content that is simply low-quality or outside your area of interest
If you report content in one of the above categories, we will review it and close the report without taking action. We may explain our reasoning.
The Review Process
Submitting a report
To report content, email tsamuels456@gmail.com with the URL of the content and a brief description of why you believe it violates our policies. The more specific you can be, the faster we can evaluate it.

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may:
- Issue a private warning to the user
- Label or add context to the content
- Remove the content
- Temporarily suspend the account
- Permanently ban the account
- For illegal content: refer to law enforcement
AI-Generated Mathematical Content
AI disclosure is an active enforcement area. We treat undisclosed AI authorship of mathematical ideas similarly to plagiarism — not because the content is necessarily bad, but because the community depends on honest representation of how work was produced.
First offense
Content removal and a private notice explaining our AI disclosure policy. No account action for a clear first offense where intent appears to be confusion about the policy rather than deliberate deception.
Repeated violation or deliberate deception
Account suspension. Permanent ban for sustained or bad-faith patterns.
Disclosed AI content
Content where AI involvement is disclosed is permitted on the platform. We may add a label to such content in the future to aid community transparency, but disclosed AI-assisted work will never be removed solely on that basis.
Appeals
If content you posted was removed or your account was suspended, you can appeal by emailing tsamuels456@gmail.com with the subject line “Moderation Appeal”. Include:
- The specific content or account action you are appealing
- Why you believe the decision was incorrect
- Any additional context you think we should have considered
We will review appeals within 14 business days and provide a written response. Our decision on appeal is final.
We take appeals seriously. Moderation at this scale is imperfect, and we expect to get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we want to know.
Transparency
We are committed to being honest about how moderation works on this platform. This policy is the complete description of our current process. As the community grows, we will update it to reflect how our approach evolves.
We do not share aggregate moderation statistics publicly at this stage, but we may do so in the future as the platform scales.
